Good:
“Have fun.”
“Trust your training.”
“Ride smart.”
“Listen to your coach.”
“I’m proud of you.”
“Focus on what you can control.”
Avoid:
“You better win.”
“You need to beat that kid.”
“Don’t crash.”
“You were faster than him last time.”
“Your sponsor is watching.”
“You can’t let us down.”
The rider should enter the gate thinking about riding, not satisfying the emotional needs of the adults around them.
