- Division 3 – Youth Competition
Primary Goal
Ages 10-15 // Level 4-5
Turn fundamentals into competitive ability.
This is where the rider begins learning what it means to train for performance.
Coaches focus on
Personal Development
Goal Setting
Riders establish:
- Short-term goals
- Race goals
- Skill goals
- Fitness goals
- Personal goals
Instead of:
“I need to win.”
We teach:
“I need to improve my starts.”
Â
Mental Toughness
Riders learn:
- How to recover from mistakes
- How to manage nerves
- How to stay focused
- How to respond to setbacks
- How to control frustration
Accountability
After every race:
What went well?
What didn’t?
What will I change?
Coaches focus on
Racer Development
Technical coaching expands into:
- Advanced cornering
- Braking efficiency
- Momentum management
- Jump technique where applicable
- Terrain selection
- Passing strategy
- Racecraft
- Starts
- Pace management
- Reading competitors
- Endurance
Video Review
Introduce basic race video analysis.
The rider watches themselves and identifies:
- One strength
- One weakness
- One improvement goal
The coach doesn’t simply tell them what they did wrong.
We teach them how to see it.
Coaches focus on
Mechanical Education
Riders begin learning:
- Tire inspection
- Chain inspection
- Air filter maintenance
- Fluid checks
- Bolt checks
- Basic tools
- Cleaning
- Pre-race inspection
The objective is not to turn every rider into a mechanic.
It’s to create riders who understand and respect their equipment.
